The Community Located at the intersection of Interstate 94 and Interstate 29 in the heart of the Red River Valley, Moorhead, Minn., serves as a center for education, agribusiness, processing, marketing and research. Moorhead is community that enjoys the friendliness of a population of 30,000 with the big-city amenities and conveniences of a metropolitan area of 150,000. The community has been recognized for having a high quality of life and being a great place to raise a family because of the clean, safe environment, sound business climate and variety of educational opportunities. Moorhead is literally a stone's throw away from Fargo, N.D., which lies just across the Red River of the North. The area is served by an international airport, Amtrak and several bus lines. Education is a major industry in Moorhead. With Moorhead State University (part of the Minnesota State University System), Concordia College (a Lutheran liberal arts college), Northwest Technical College (a post-secondary vocational technical school), and public and private elementary and secondary schools, the entire community is a part of the educational process. Arts and culture flourish in Moorhead. Local talent supports a community theater, a symphony orchestra, dance companies, art galleries and museums. Concerts and shows are held in the Fargodome, a 25,000-seat indoor sports and entertainment stadium. Area colleges produce many theatrical and musical performances each year.
