Alternative Education Programs The district includes the Red River Area Learning Center, which offers alternative programs for students with needs not met through traditional school settings. The Area Learning Center, which is located at the Moorhead Armory in north Moorhead, allows students in grades 5-12 to study at an individualized pace. The Outreach Center offers a program for students with mental health needs. The district has teachers and paraprofessionals providing classes at the West Central Juvenile Detention Center and the Shelter Care program.
